Servann, en contrat d'alternance RH chez Pouliquen, négociant de légumes frais de Bretagne

Servann, HR intern: learning with confidence

At Pouliquen, a fresh produce wholesaler, training tomorrow’s professionals is not just a stance, it is a concrete commitment that we demonstrate every day. Servann, 19, embodies this commitment: after an initial seven-week internship at our premises, she chose to continue her second year of a BTS (Higher Technical Certificate) in Management Support (SAM) as a work-study student within our administrative team.

She has been with us ever since. Last summer, she followed up her internship with a fixed-term contract, before starting a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Development at the beginning of the academic year, still with us. When asked why she wanted to continue the experience, she looks at us intently with her big dark eyes and replies: ‘I didn’t want to leave!’

An enriching and versatile work-study programme

Supervised by Hélène, our administrative and financial manager, whom we introduced here, Servann has already carried out numerous HR and administrative tasks: managing workwear stocks, preparing contracts, monitoring payroll, internal posting, entering invoices, VAT, ordering supplies, etc. She carries out these varied tasks with seriousness and curiosity, supported by a mentor whom she describes as ‘very good at teaching, always available to explain even the simplest things.’

During the summer, Servann took on even more responsibilities. In the morning, she assisted the sales team; in the afternoon, she continued to work on HR and administrative tasks. It was a busy and stimulating schedule, ‘never the same,’ which gave her a better understanding of how the company works as a whole.
‘It will be a real plus for me if I ever change companies. I find it extremely rewarding.’
Since the start of the new school year and the resumption of classes, she has returned to her human resources management duties.

A working atmosphere that inspires

Of course, the skills she has acquired are essential. But for Servann, what really makes the difference is the atmosphere.
‘I’m happy to come to work. We all get along well.’
Whether in production or in the office, the young woman feels comfortable, integrated and recognised. There are many small gestures of kindness: ‘When I got my BTS, I was given a horse key ring because I ride horses.’

Passing on knowledge, providing support, helping to grow

At Pouliquen, we are convinced that it is by offering a caring and demanding working environment that young talents can express their potential. Supporting Servann in her career path also means investing in the future of our professions. HR, administration, sales… She moves flexibly between departments while continuing her studies.
“What would I say to a young person who is hesitating to apply? Go for it! We are well supported, the assignments are interesting, and the people are approachable. And the working environment is really pleasant. ‘

And after that?

Although Servann clearly sees herself working in human resources, she remains open to other opportunities.
’I like having lots of different assignments. I find it stimulating.‘
One thing is certain: she intends to stay at Pouliquen for a while longer.
’I’ve already warned them that I’ll be hanging on to my desk!‘ (laughs).
